America is the world's education center. Each year, over 600,000 international students attend US colleges and universities. Many of these students are the "cream of the crop" of their societies and destined to be the future leaders of their nation. The vast majority are from Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist nations and have never heard the Gospel.
Recognizing the awesome potential of reaching future world leaders for Christ, Billy Graham encouraged the creation of International Students Incorporated (ISI). Through on-campus ministry staff and local churches, ISI now reaches out to international students at over 350 colleges and universities around the nation.
Boston is second only to New York City in the number of international students -- over 37,000 are studying at 48 colleges and universities in the immediate Boston area. The best and the brightest from nearly every nation on earth have come to us and they are eager to learn. Tragically, over 70% of international students never set foot into an American home.
ISI has campus ministries at Northeastern, Tufts and U-Mass Lowell, and partners with a number of churches who are near the colleges and universities. Every Thanksgiving ISI partners with Boston area churches to host over 200 international students. We at Trinity Evangelical Church strongly believe in this vital ministry are blessed to be involved in the direct support of the ISI ministry in the Boston area.
