Missions Banquet Jeanes Scholarship Prayer Schedule Dottie Jeanes Scholarship Born and raised in First Baptist Church of North Reading (now Trinity Evangelical Church), Dottie felt the call to missions, which was confirmed while attending Urbana, a unique week-long national missions conference held every two years. Dottie faithfully served the Lord in Japan for 35 years and then continued teaching English for another 10 years, using the Bible, to Japanese people in Boston. As our Missionary Emeritus, it is most fitting that our missions scholarship bears her name. Dottie Jeanes Scholarships are presented to those individuals who sense the call to missions and want to attend formal training for God to confirm their call and begin their preparation for the missions field. Jay Rhoton, sensing a call to missions, attended training with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) for nine months. The Missions Committee, along with Dottie, prayerfully considered Jay and were delighted to present him with the first Dottie Jeanes Scholarship of $2,000 in 2002. Since then Danae Legrow, Sarah Marchese, and Josh Wilson have also received scholarships to attend training programs and further studies to prepare themselves for God’s calling to missions. If you are interested in a Dottie Jeanes Scholarship, please apply to the Missions Committee. If you would like to contribute to the scholarship, please put Dottie Jeanes Scholarship on the memo line of your check. |
