Have you ever thought about reading the Bible and just didn't know where to start? Have you ever wondered what the big deal was about the Bible and what relevance it actually has for your life? Do you want to know more of the "Why" behind the Bible so you can understand and apply the "What" that you read?
If this is you, make sure you get involved in Trinity's year long small group emphasis "The Year of the Bible". This year we will be focusing our small groups on getting a better understanding of the Bible. Over the course of the year we will offer 4 distinct modules for our small groups, so jump into a group any time or pick a module and start a group of your own!

"How we got our Bible"
Module 1 (Fall/Early Winter)
How did the Bible come into existence? Why and how were these books chosen? How do we know that the Bible we hold today is reliable? This study gives you the foundational information you need to read the Bible as a trustworthy source for your life. Be prepared for some challenge and some stretching.
"The Bible's Big Picture"
Module 2 (Fall/Early Winter)
What do we have to gain from those long Old Testament sections on the law? What about all that history? What can we learn from Paul's letters to the church in the New Testament? By introducing each of the major sections of Scripture, this study helps us gain perspective on the whole message of God's Word.
"Old Testament Survey"
Module 3 (Late Winter/Spring)
When did Moses live? What is the difference between Genesis and Hosea? Do we really need every book in the Old Testament? During this 4 week small group study you will briefly examine the main purpose, literary qualities, and historical setting of every major section of the Old Testament. As you look at the differences between Old Testament books you will gain a greater understanding of the timeline and purpose of each.
"New Testament Survey"
Module 4 (Late Winter/Spring)
What is the difference between the Gospels and Paul's Epistles? Which were written first? What are the major differences between a book like Revelation and John? This 4 week survey of the entire New Testament will help shed historical and literary light on your personal Bible reading. Explore who Paul spent most of his life ministering to and which letters he wrote while in prison. You won't read the New Testament the same after this 4 week small group study.
